LAYER®
Light As Your Energetic Response

Dracula Technologies has created LAYER®, a printed technology which generates energy from ambient light. LAYER® is the world’s 1st shaped Organic Photovoltaic Cells. Our technology is based on a unique manufacturing technique using digital printing. In the same way that an office printer uses graphic ink, we print our LAYER® modules using functional ink that we have formulated ourselves.

Energy from ambient light

LAYER® generates energy from ambient light because we use specific materials which harvest both natural and artificial light.

Customizable​

Inkjet printing makes it possible to produce shapes or specific designs and print LAYER® on flexible supports which follow the curves.

Eco-Friendly

To formulate our photo active inks, only organic materials are used. Moreover, LAYER® does not require rare earth elements.

We formulate our inks from conductive materials but we use neither rare earth elements nor lead. Our formulations allow us to optimise the performance of our modules according to their environment of use: indoor, outdoor or mixed.

Inkjet printing offers the possibility of creating specific shapes and printing on flexible substrates. Before printing, and in order to optimise the performance of the modules, we do some image processing work.

LAYER® technology consists of printing 5 different layers, which each have physical properties that make it possible to generate energy from ambient light. The combined 5 printed layers form an organic photovoltaic (OPV) module.

To protect against ultraviolet rays, humidity and external pollution so as to maintain the performance of the modules over time, the materials used are encapsulated in flexible barrier films.
