On June 2022, the EIC Accelerator program announced the names of the winning companies in its March 2022 call for applications. After a selection process lasting several months, to which more than 1,000 European companies applied, 74 of them were finally selected, including 12 in France.
Among them, Dracula Technologies, a French industrial company, whose ambition is to become a world reference in terms of Energy Harvesting through light in our living spaces, whether at home or in our companies, thanks to a French advanced energy industry, has been awarded a project grant of 1.6 million euros.
We excel in the manufacturing of organic photovoltaic modules based on a patented digital printing technique. Our vision is clear: provide a sustainable alternative to batterie.
The highly selective European EIC (European Innovation Council) Accelerator program finances small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with disruptive innovation projects that are preparing for a phase of very high growth associated with bringing their innovation to market. The EIC Accelerator program provides substantial financial support with:
Grants (non-dilutive): up to €2.5 million for innovation development costs.
Investments (Direct equity investments): up to €15 million managed by the EIC Fund for scale-up and other relevant costs

Successful Companies | Cut-off 23 March 2022
In addition, companies selected by EIC benefit from coaching, mentoring, access to investors and companies, and many other opportunities within the EIC community. The EIC welcomes applications from innovators from all EU Member States and countries associated with the Horizon Europe program.
Dracula Technologies will be able to accelerate its development and bring to market its Organic Photovoltaic (OPV) module produced through inkjet printing to provide an innovative solution able to take any shape, even adapting to the smallest imaginable format.
It can be customized all the way up to the very composition of each individual layer of the photovoltaic module in order to respond to a diversity of applications (IoTs, wearables and other electronics requesting an ultra-low power…).

LAYER® is a world’s 1st shaped Organic Photovoltaic (OPV) module produced through inkjet printing that can effectively generate energy from ambient light and is specifically designed for IoT devices, such as smart home tools. Smart home devices installed with LAYER® technology are automatically charged under standard indoor illumination conditions and low light conditions (under 50 lux) eliminating the need for cables behind walls and changing batteries.
Within the device, the module is integrated on the surface plugged into its circuit board to ensure the total or partial energy supply. The module consists of 1 electrode, 1 interfacial layer and the active layer made of organic raw materials. It is less than 500 μm thick and can harvest both natural and artificial light with a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 12% and 25% under outdoor and indoor illumination respectively. LAYER® is customizable and eco-friendly, thanks to the unique manufacturing process using inkjet printing and organic photoactive inks.
It’s been one year since we first introduced LAYER®Vault at CES 2024. To celebrate its anniversary, Dracula Technologies is returning to CES 2025 with exciting new advancements to showcase.
